Makes VPN and Network Management a Breeze
What do you like best about the product?
The user-based permissions allow you to limit specific teams to specific network subnets. And split tunneling improves performance by routing only specific traffic through the VPN. This reduces your network throughput for the VPN server. The two factor authentication integration and the individual web portal simplifies user management by allowing easy access to configurations and credentials.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing costs can add up quickly for larger teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OpenVPN AS allows us to access our virtual private cloud in a more feature rich and robust way.

OpenVPN Access Server stands out for its balance of strong security, ease of use, and scalability. It provides a reliable VPN solution with a user-friendly web interface, making deployment and management straightforward even for those with limited networking experience. Its support for multiple authentication methods, seamless integration with existing infrastructure, and ability to handle remote access and site-to-site connections efficiently make it a versatile choice. Plus, its robust encryption ensures data protection while maintaining stable performance across various devices and operating systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
While OpenVPN Access Server is a powerful and flexible VPN solution, its licensing model can be a drawback for some users, as it limits the number of concurrent connections unless additional licenses are purchased. Additionally, while the web-based management interface is convenient, it may feel somewhat basic for advanced users who prefer more granular control. Simple but effective VPN solution (though needs a better web console)
What do you like best about the product?
We don't have too many login issues or dropped connections with OpenVPN. I've used other vpn services in the past and they can be a bit shaky at times causing disconnecitons or issues with users being able to log on.
We have had issues of those kinds with OpenVPN but they are usually solved quickly and happen fairly rare.
I'm also happy about the speed of the vpn network. I don't notice any significant delay's when on the vpn vs when off.

What do you dislike about the product?
I am the admin and the web-based gui console is very limited. You have to do things like reset mfa codes through a terminal. I wish I could just locate a user's account in the web console and reset there.
Seriously OpenVPN, this is something that should be possible.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OpenVPN allows us to protect our IP and our customer's data behind the firewall and heavily restrict the access to outside users.
We are a fully remote company and without a solid VPN, we would not be able to function.
